Opportunity: FREE Walking School Bus Workshop

WALKING SCHOOL BUS WORKSHOP

Q: What is a Walking School Bus?

A: An adult-escorted walk to school – a fun, low-cost solution to provide essential physical activity for children.

On March 8, the Arizona Safe Routes To School (SRTS) Program will hold a FREE workshop on how to create and sustain your own Walking School Bus (WSB) program. The workshop will be held at:

Littletown Community Center
6465 South Craycroft Road
Tucson, AZ 85705

Time: 8:30am-2:30pm

If you’d like to register, reply to Brian Fellows (see below) BY MONDAY, MARCH 6 and provide your name, phone number, and e-mail address.

The next SRTS funding cycle (September-December) will make available up to $45,000 in free reimbursement grant funding to create and sustain your own Walking School Bus Program for you or your child’s school.  If you’d like more information visit ADOT’s Safe Routes to School web site – www.azdot.gov/srts — and click on ‘Support and Training’ and then on ‘Training’.  All attendees of the workshop will receive three extra points on their next SRTS application.
