It’s been almost 3 years since LSA first proposed including pedestrian capital improvement projects in the next Pima County Bond election. Since then, we’ve worked closely with dozens of community partners to refine a proposal that is regional in scope and addresses many areas with the greatest need in Pima County.
It all boils down to January 9th.
On Friday, January 9th, the Pima County Bond Advisory Committee will make its final recommendation whether to include a pedestrian “package” or not. This funding is critical to improving walking conditions in the region, since pedestrian-specific funding mechanisms are almost non-existent, and those that do exist or nominal.
