So much Bike Fest in 2017!

Way to Bike Fest, Tucson! April was a great month full of ways to celebrate “life on two wheels” – we loved seeing our community create and share their favorite bike events, including rides to ice cream shops, breweries, and farmers markets, a BMX show, bike maintenance classes, karaoke rides, a scavenger hunt, a bike-in movie, campouts, a ride to work with the Mayor, and of course – Cyclovia!

New this year, we paired Bike Fest with Love to Ride, our ride-logging app, to give away prizes to 28 lucky winners!  So let’s run the numbers….

  • 74 Bike Fest events

  • 37,350 participants

  • 39,088 miles, 4,675 trips logged by 240 riders in April

And then, we topped it off by awarding two grand prizes!

Congratulations to Jim Martin, winner of the Bike Commuter Kit, and to Gabby Shaw, winner of the Staycation Package!

And the fun continues because Love to Ride is active all year long, with more prizes every month – register and log your trips for your chance to win. This fall, we’ll host our second annual Tucson Bike More Challenge, a free, month-long competition among workplaces to get the their staff to ride a bike and rack up points for weekly prizes and team bragging rights. The Challenge culminates with grand prizes and workplace trophies presented during our awards celebration at Tucson’s most bicycle-friendly watering hole.

Finally, we’d like to thank our generous Bike Fest/Love to Ride sponsors and these local businesses for donating amazing prizes:
