Ride with Gary Fisher to Benefit Living Streets Alliance!
October 17, 2012 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pmFREE, but donations welcome!
“Founding father of mountain biking,” Gary Fisher, will return to Tucson this month! As part of his visit, Trek Bicycles of Tucson is organizing a fun group ride and celebration on Wednesday, October 17th at 6:00pm to benefit the work of Living Streets Alliance.
The ride will start at Trek Bicycles of Tucson (1800 East Fort Lowell Road #100) and travel through central Tucson, concluding with a celebration at Borderlands Brewing Company (119 E. Toole Ave.) in the heart of downtown. Borderlands is donating one dollar from every beer sold that evening to Living Streets Alliance.
Trek Bicycles of Tucson is donating a single-speed commuter bike and is selling raffle tickets at Trek stores and LSA events. Proceeds will go to LSA.
In addition, VelociPrints, a bicycle-inspired art show, will have a preview of the November show and will donate a portion of the proceeds from each print sold to LSA. VelociPrints has also received permission to create a one-of-a-kind print of a rare Gary Fisher photograph that Gary will sign and raffle at a silent auction at the November VelociPrints show. Unsigned reproductions of the print will be for sale at the VelociPrints show with a portion of the proceeds benefitting LSA.
Finally, DJ Andy DePew from Satyr Entertainment will be at Borderlands playing dance tunes. Dress up in your best, come out for a bike ride, and boogie with the Godfather of the Mountain Bike, Gary Fisher, all in the name of supporting your local advocacy group working to make the streets safer places for everyone!
Don’t miss this chance to come out and meet Gary Fisher! Let us know if you can make it.
