Round II: Support walkability at the Bond Advisory Committee meeting
January 23, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
For the last three years, Living Streets Alliance along with a coalition of over 30 neighborhoods, organizations, and businesses have worked on the Pedestrian Safety & Comfort campaign to raise awareness of walkability in the greater Tucson region. The Bond Advisory Committee met on January 9th to deliberate about our proposal to earmark $25 million for pedestrian improvements in the region. On Friday, January 23rd, they will make their final decision whether to include it in the next Pima County Bond election ballot.
We need you to help us pack the room and show you share the vision of a safe, vibrant, and comfortable region for walking!
LSA will provide ample, free bike parking at the Riverpark Inn and neon “I want to walk” pins so you can show your support with a strong, visual statement.
If you have some time over the next few weeks, take a look at our Pedestrian Safety & Comfort Bond proposal and familiarize yourself with the 16 projects LSA is proposing.
