Whimsical Bike Count #6 — Costumes (Happy Halloween!)
October 29, 2015 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Do you get on your two wheels as part of your daily routine to get to work, pick up kids, buy groceries, etc. — in other words, as a means of transportation in your normal, everyday clothes? How about pedaling to Halloween parties? Then you’re a part of Tucson’s “everyday biking” scene! The national advocacy organization People for Bikes is on a quest to name the everyday biking capital of the United States through a nationwide competition that involves a series of monthly themed bike counts. Unlike the “serious” and “scientific” bike counts, these are all about “fun” and “whimsy.” (You can read more here.)
There are only two more counts left to go in and this one definitely has the most “whimsy” potential of all: The theme this month is costumes to capture the spirit of Halloween. Please visit our facebook event page to RSVP, spread the word to your friends, and get updates on the “trick or treat” ride for kiddos that’s in the works. We’ll be counting at the corner of 4th Avenue and University Street right in front of Epic Cafe. Bring us your best costumes, Tucson, and let’s win this one!
The final count theme is “beards” on November 19, so time to start growing them beards!
