TUCSON — During the week of Nov.14-18, the movie, “With My Own Two Wheels,” will be showing in high schools and middle schools all around Tucson. The movie’s co-director and producer, Jacob Seigel-Boettner, will be at all of the showings and working directly with the students in economics, humanities and audio visual classes.
A public showing will be held at the Fox Theatre at 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m. in conjunction with an Art Show called, The VelociPrint Show. The art show will feature 30 artists celebrating their love of the bicycle by each creating an exclusive, limited-edition print. Also during the movie event will be the unveiling of a new photo montage book, “Tucson Spokes,” about the cyclists and cycling community of Tucson, Arizona and get a sneak peak of the Art from the BICAS Art Auction.
For many Americans, the bicycle is a choice, an expensive toy, an eco-conscious mode of transportation. For countless others across the globe, it is much more. “With My Own Two Wheels” weaves together the experiences of these five individuals into a single story about how the bicycle can change the world—one pedal stroke at a time.
All profits from the movie will be donated to World Bike Relief and BICAS (Bicycle Inter-Community Art and Salvage).
World Bicycle Relief is dedicated to providing access to independence and livelihood through the power of bicycles. Since their founding in 2005, World Bicycle Relief has distributed over 88,000 bicycles and trained over 750 field mechanics.
A silent Auction will be held at the Fox Theatre showing with incredible items from Carmichael Training System, A SOLD OUT entry into the solo category at the 2012 24 Hours in The Old Pueblo Race, A bike fitting from Fit Works, Spin Classes from o2 modern fitness, and more. The life Auction will have a World Bike Relief Bike.
