Tucson, AZ (August 20, 2025) – October is just around the corner, and that means Tucson’s favorite car-free, carefree “open streets” event is almost here. Living Streets Alliance is thrilled to invite the public to its 23rd Cyclovia Tucson event on Sunday, October 26th from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Returning to the Thrive in the 05 route, 3 miles of 85705 neighborhood streets will be temporarily closed to car traffic and opened up for people to walk, bike, roll, play, and connect at this free event, highlighting neighborhood traffic calming, green infrastructure, and wayfinding signage that make this route ideal for biking and walking throughout Dunbar Spring, Barrio Blue Moon, Old Pascua and Bronx Park.

Activities, live entertainment, delicious food trucks, free bike repair, giveaways, and more will be concentrated into five unique Activity Hubs along the route. Route neighborhoods and activity hosts are coming together to bring you an exciting experience from start to finish; a big incentive to walk or cruise the entire route!

Volunteers of all kinds are still needed for the event! Visit www.cycloviatucson.org/volunteer to learn more and sign up to be a part of the magic in one of three ways:

Intersection Volunteer: Grab a friend and hang out at one of the smaller neighborhood intersections, where you can keep the route flowing, chat with participants, and people-watch as thousands cruise through.

Group Volunteers: Groups of six or more people can team up to help support busier intersections. These groups not only interact with the 50,000+ who come to Cyclovia, they’re also visible to traffic around the event. This is perfect for businesses and organizations that want to be SEEN far and wide.

Census Volunteers: Census volunteers gather data to improve Cyclovia events and support transportation advocacy for Tucson! Engage participants in a short survey during the event. Pair up with a friend and hop into action in support of open and safer streets!

Living Streets Alliance’s 23rd Cyclovia Tucson event is presented by Arizona Complete Health and made possible with support from numerous partners and sponsors, including City of Tucson, Tucson Ward 3 Council Member Kevin Dahl, Banner—University Medicine and Banner University Family Care, AARP Tucson, Tucson Water, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality’s Clean Air Program, Arizona Commision for the Arts and Pima County Department of Tourism and Economic Development. Sign up to volunteer, enroll your community group, or register as a food vendor at www.cycloviatucson.org.

As part of the global “open streets” movement, Cyclovia Tucson is a unique opportunity for people of all ages and “walks” of like to envision a city with safer, more sustainable mobility options for everyone, amidst thriving and enjoyable public spaces. A variety of local organizations, including a wide range of businesses and community groups, along with diverse Tucson residents of all ages and abilities participate in the temporary transformation of our streets into car-free spaces where freedom of movement and connection are centered. There are many ways to get involved, including volunteering, sponsorship and underwriting, performing, or setting up an activity on the route. Learn more and sign up at www.cycloviatucson.org.
