Having plentiful and secure bike parking at local destinations is essential to encouraging both employees and customers to bike more often. Since 2007, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) has installed over 800 new bike parking spaces, including bike corrals for Tucsonans and visitors alike who wish to ride their bikes to shop or eat. TDOT also provides free bike racks to organizations who request them, and even installs them if they’re located on the public sidewalk.
And now, LSA is complementing this service by offering free bike rack installation for the next 6 months for any business, school, church, and organization who wants to install racks on their private property. LSA staff will work with your organization to identify the number of racks needed and an appropriate location, assist with the application to obtain free racks from TDOT, and then install the racks.

As part of this service, LSA will also provide personal assistance in filling out the online Bicycle Friendly Business application! Being designated as a Bicycle Friendly Business is a great way to gain local and national recognition for being a leader in wellness, sustainability and corporate responsibility. Earning a designation as a BFB is a clear way to show your business cares. Learn more about the BFB process and benefits here.
