That's right, we've hit a milestone - and we're celebrating with a return to a long-loved route through some of Tucson's oldest neighborhoods: Downtown - South Tucson! Expect all of the usual Cyclovia delights, with a few extra special surprises thrown in. As always, Cyclovia Tucson is free to all and powered by community. Living Streets Alliance has just launched our Friends of Cyclovia giving program, inviting you to help sustain Cyclovia and ensure that this free, welcoming Tucson tradition continues to bring community together for years to come. Our Year in Review
Our 2026 Annual Report is hot off the press! This year we've had the honor of bringing community together to talk about our vision for a Tucson we all can thrive in, we've celebrated a year of fare-free transit, and have advocated for safety and accessibility. We've also welcomed our new Executive Director, Vanessa Cascio, held two beautiful Cyclovia Tucson events, and brought extensive Safe Routes to School programming to public schools throughout the city. We're proud of all that we've achieved together with our greater LSA community! Celebrate with us by diving into the stories and photographs that showcase the scope and impact of our work over the past year.

Mobile Bike Repair
The following Mobile Bike Repair clinics are scheduled in partnership with area schools. If your family attends one of these schools, make sure to contact the front office to reserve your slot! We'll provide basic bicycle maintenance and youth bicycle helmets for FREE. Made possible by the City of Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility.

Come Out for Sun Tran
There's a lot happening over at Sun Tran this month, and you're invited to hop on the bus and take part! On August 14th, Sun Tran is holding a Stuff-the-Bus supply drive in partnership with The Salvation Army. Participate in a 'Learn to Ride' training at Ward 5 office on August 26th, or voice your opinion at one the city's Safe City Connect: Transit events held throughout the month. BICAS Annual Beer for Bikes: Art for Auction on August 27th!
The annual BICAS Beer for Bikes: Art for Auction will be held at Dragoon Brewing Co, on August 27th, 5-9 PM. This fundraiser is both a fun community gathering and a vital funding source for BICAS programs. For a $25 ticket, attendees will receive a Dragoon drink, a BICAS t-shirt, $10 of BICAS credit, and a sticker. At the auction, bidders will place their bids on a collection of one-of-a-kind art pieces, including upcycled welded creations and art of all mediums inspired by bicycles.

Report: Building More Homes Reduces Overall Driving
Researchers from UCLA and Berkley analyzed California's housing plans and found that building more homes could reduce state-wide car traffic by 1%. California has a goal of dropping traffic by 25% by 2030. This study did not cover strategic housing construction, which could reduce traffic up to 6%. With an intentional approach to housing development, California could make significant strides toward its goal.

A new report highlights how investing in walking, biking, and transit can help support local businesses, create jobs, strengthen downtowns, and generate economic benefits for communities. It’s a good reminder that when we make it easier and safer for people to get around, everyone can benefit.

Our Fall Cyclovia route will be skirting their bakery, and we encourage you to swing by and try their artisanal baked goods, sourdough bread and expertly-crafted drinks.
