3 Reasons to Volunteer on October 25th Dear Friends, Tucson's only free-to-all, Open Streets celebration is right around the corner and now is the time to save yourself a front-row seat!   Cyclovia Tucson can't happen without a community of neighbors pitching in. Here are 3 reasons why spending a few hours volunteering will make Cyclovia even better...for you, for everyone! 1. Help Provide A Safe, Welcoming Event Photo by Mamta Popat Cyclovia brings thousands of people out to experience joy and connection in Tucson's car-free streets. Volunteers are an integral part of welcoming neighbors to the festivities, cheering on kids wobbling down the center lane on a bike for the first time, and providing the warm presence along the route that makes this event a radical transformation of our streets.  Our individual intersection volunteer shifts are half-day so you'll have plenty of time to cruise the route, play games, peruse the hubs, sample the food trucks, and get your Cyclovia on before or after a volunteer shift! I'm In! 2. Create a Meaningful Memory With Your Group of Friends or Colleagues Photo by Kathleen Dreier Adopt an intersection with your friends, colleagues, club, affinity or student group, and make it completely your own. Think music, costumes, telling jokes, bubbles, water balloons, and/or spreading info to the thousands of Cyclovia participants that will pass your post.  Group volunteering is a unique team bonding opportunity, and a way to have a great day with those you know!
