Press Release: Going Car-Free on Cyclovia Sunday

Tucson, AZ (October 20, 2026)
 — Living Streets Alliance invites people of all ages and abilities to Cyclovia Tucson on Sunday, October 25th from 9 AM to 3 PM. Streets on the Downtown – South Tucson route will be temporarily closed to car traffic and open to people to walk, roll, bike, and play.

Six hours and 2.5 miles of car-free streets are great, but why stop there? Make Cyclovia Sunday a car-lite or entirely car-free day by taking advantage of free transit, bike routes, or micromobility to get to and from the event. Here are ways to plan your route and make it happen.

Give transit a try—it’s free!

Sun Tran routes 23, 16, and 12 connect to the Downtown Ronstadt Center, with stops along or within walking distance of the Cyclovia route. Route 2 will bring you right to the action on 22nd Street! Sun Tran buses have bike racks in the front, so you can bring your bicycle with you. You can find directions by using Google Maps from your house to your arrival destination and selecting the transit mode. Sun Tran also has an online trip planner tool or download the incredibly useful Transit App.

Ride a bike

If you want to bike to Cyclovia, you can utilize one of the city’s low-stress bikeways (Bicycle Boulevards) to get to the event. The 18th Street Bike Boulevard crosses the Barrio Viejo section of the route, and this October, our route runs alongside the 8th Avenue Bike Boulevard. Be sure to double-check real-time Google maps for any construction that might affect your ride!

Micromobility is perfect for making short distance connections. Grab a Tugo Bike, with free rentals at nearby stations! Check out the map of stations across Tucson to see the docking station closest to your home. Stop by their permanent station at the Armory Park and Ochoa Community School Hubs, or the pop-up station at Luna y Sol to pick up a bike to cruise the route with.

Living Streets Alliance’s 25th Cyclovia Tucson event is presented by Arizona Complete Health and made possible with support from numerous partners and sponsors, including Visit Tucson, KXCI, Tucson Water, AARP Arizona, Pima County Tourism and Attractions, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality’s Clean Air Program, ICCU, Lime, Arizona Commission on the Arts, Downtown Tucson Partnership, City of Tucson, Slow Body Brewing Co., and Pueblo Vida Brewing.
