April is just around the corner, and that means Tucson’s favorite car-free, carefree “open streets” event is almost here. Living Streets Alliance is thrilled to invite the public to its 24th Cyclovia Tucson event on Sunday, April 12th from 9:00AM to 3:00PM. Volunteers are needed now to help bring the event to life.

Volunteers Needed

Community members can sign up at www.cycloviatucson.org/volunteer and be a part of the magic in one of three ways:

Intersection Volunteer: Grab a friend and hang out at one of the smaller neighborhood intersections, where you can keep the route flowing, chat with participants, and people-watch as thousands cruise through.

Group Volunteers: Groups of six or more people can team up to help support busier intersections. These groups not only interact with the 50,000+ who come to Cyclovia, they’re also visible to traffic around the event. This is perfect for businesses and organizations that want to be SEEN far and wide!

Census Volunteers: Census volunteers gather data to improve Cyclovia events and support transportation advocacy for Tucson! Engage participants in a short survey during the event. Pair up with a friend and hop into action in support of open and safer streets!

Returning to the Downtown - Amphi route, three miles of neighborhood streets will be temporarily closed to car traffic and opened up for people to walk, bike, roll, play, and connect at this free event, highlighting native plants, push-button crossings, and bike lane markings that make this route ideal for biking and walking throughout Downtown, Historic 4th Avenue, Feldman’s, Sugar Hill, Keeling and Amphi neighborhoods. Activities, live entertainment, delicious food trucks, free bike repair, giveaways, and more will be concentrated into four unique Activity Hubs along the route. Route neighborhoods and activity hosts are coming together to bring you an exciting experience from start to finish; a big incentive to walk or cruise the entire route!

The 24th Cyclovia Tucson event is made possible with support from numerous partners and sponsors, including AARP, Pima County Attractions and Tourism, Visit Tucson, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality’s Clean Air Program, The Gloo Factory, Tap & Bottle, KXCI, ICCU, Dragoon Brewing Co. and Pueblo Vida Brewing Co. Sign up to volunteer, enroll your community group, or register as a food vendor at www.cycloviatucson.org.

As part of the global “open streets” movement, Cyclovia Tucson is a unique opportunity for people of all ages and “walks” of like to envision a city with safer, more sustainable mobility options for everyone, amidst thriving and enjoyable public spaces. A variety of local organizations, including a wide range of businesses and community groups, along with diverse Tucson residents of all ages and abilities participate in the temporary transformation of our streets into car-free spaces where freedom of movement and connection are centered. There are many ways to get involved, including volunteering, sponsorship and underwriting, performing, or setting up an activity on the route. Learn more and sign up at www.cycloviatucson.org.
